Elevate 3" Seam Tape is designed for field splicing of Elevate EPDM membranes and flashings.

• It provides excellent long-term seaming & water-proofing of EPDM due to both sides of the tape being self-adhered. Once cured it performs as well as one piece of EPDM.

• Excellent moisture and temperature resistance.

• Seam Tape can only be used when one piece of Elevate EPDM overlaps another piece of rubber membrane by at least 75mm.

Note: No contact adhesive is needed for the installation of SA flashing. QuickPrime Plus must be used to prime the membrane to which the flashing will be attached.

When installing below 5 degrees, the use of a heat gun (not touching directly), will increase the flexibility & adherence of the flashing. Don't overheat or touch directly.

More information can be found in the installation guides, but to summarise:

• Ensure the area is dry, clean & free of debris. There must be a minimum of 75mm EPDM overlap. We advise when possible, having the top piece of EPDM run over the lower piece where water will run 'over' the joint.

• Using a straight edge, neatly cut the EPDM to allow 100mm overlap.

• Next, using a chalk & straight edge, mark 20mm past your EPDM overlap.

• Fold and hold back the 100mm overlap. Apply Quickprime Primer within the chalked area, & to the folded back EPDM - use your quickscrub Holder & Fleece to apply evenly to the area, leaving no pooling (keep EPDM folded back).

• Once touch-dry & tacky, starting at one side, apply the seam tape to the bottom piece of EPDM (not the folded back piece), with the tape side up (tape peeled off after). The seam is applied just shy of the prime line (20mm past your overlap). Work into position with your silicone Rubber Roller.

• Next, fold back over the EPDM. Then, starting at one side, peel the top layer of tape of at 45 degree angle to the tape run, smoothing the EPDM onto the tape as you go. Work in with your Silicone Rubber Roller.

  • Can I stick Elevate Flashing down with bonding adhesive?
No. You must use Elevate Quickprime Plus to prime the EPDM & surface your seaming product will adhere to. The waterbased deck adhesive or bonding adhesive is not suitable for this.
  • Do I need to seal the edges of the flashing?
Providing you follow installation instructions, & conduct the work under appropriate weather conditions, the flashing will seam to the EPDM and not require additional sealing. However, during this curing process, Lap Sealant can seal the edges until the seam fully bonds. Our installation team applies this as an extra layer of protection to ensure long-term performance.
  • What happens if I get air pockets in the flashing?
Some air pockets can be gently smoothed out with your Silicone Rubber Roller & Penny Roller. Start from the centre, and work towards the edges. Never start at the edge and work in - as this will trap the pocket. It you have air pockets sufficient to affect the seal - you may need to pierce/cut this & place a new patch over the top.
  • Can Seam Tape flashing be used to repair EPDM or flash corners?
No, Elevate 3'' Seam Tape is specifically designed to seam & bond together to pieces of overlapping EPDM. Quickseam Flash From (such as 9'' Formflash or Quickseam Corner Flashing) must be used for detailing, flashing & repairs.
  • Can Seam Flashing Tape Join EPDM if there is no overlap?
No, there must be an absolute minimum of 75mm (100mm ideally) of EPDM overlap to use the Seam Flashing Tape. If the two pieces of EPDM abut each other. A 5'' Flashing Tape must be used, or a 6'' Cover Tape when using a Batten Bar to Anchor the EPDM.

We strongly advise reading our Deliveries & Returns information, to fully understand the delivery of your item(s).

To summarise, see below:

Order Processing:

Orders for Flat Roofing Items placed before 12pm midday, are generally processed for dispatch the same day. Orders placed after midday will be processed next day. Delivery:

After dispatch, your order will generally be delivered the next working day. Do note, if you order other roofing trims with your items, these may be delivered separately due to the length of the trims & courier service guidelines.

The delivery of your items will be carefully packaged, signed off, & will be delivered via a courtier network. We strongly advise being present for delivery to inspect your products & sign delivery notes. Additionally, not all courier service trucks have tail lifts, or pallet trolleys. Please be prepared with the necessary person(s) to take delivery of your items, necessary for the size of the order. Depending on the size of items ordered, they may be heavy - use proper lifting technique, we cannot be held liable for any personal injury resulting from the delivery or use of the ordered items.

Notes on the delivery of Elevate EPDM:

If you order EPDM with your items, the rubber will be delivered rolled up for ease of transport. As a result there may be some fold creases and wrinkles - this is normal. To remedy this, the EPDM should be laid to rest, or settle, for a minimum of 1 hour. In colder temperatures, the light use of a heat gun (not a naked flame) can be used to settle the rubber. Don't overheat or touch directly.

Starting your project:

We advise not booking in or arranging an installation team to begin works before the goods have been delivered & inspected. Delays or order mistakes are rare, but can happen. We can't be liable for any costs as a result from delayed or incorrect delivery or items.
