The Elevate 5 inch Flashing Tape is designed to join EPDM, Flash Gravel stops and other details such as trims, & as specified in the Elevate Specifications.

ā€¢ Ensure the area is clean, dry & free of debris, then, using the Quickscrub Holder & Fleece, apply an even amount of Quickprime plus to the necessary area, leaving no pooling.

ā€¢ Once tacky or touch-dry, apply the 5'' Flashing Tape with necessary overlap onto each surface to be bonded. Work into place with your Silicone Rubber Roller & Penny Roller.

ā€¢ If needed, apply Elevate Lap Sealant the flashing edges.

  • Can I stick Elevate Flashing down with bonding adhesive?
No. You must use Elevate Quickprime Plus to prime the EPDM & surface your seaming product will adhere to. The waterbased deck adhesive or bonding adhesive is not suitable for this.
  • Do I need to seal the edges of the flashing?
Providing you follow installation instructions, & conduct the work under appropriate weather conditions, the flashing will seam to the EPDM and not require additional sealing. However, during this curing process, Lap Sealant can seal the edges until the seam fully bonds. Our installation team applies this as an extra layer of protection to ensure long-term performance.
  • What happens if I get air pockets in the flashing?
Some air pockets can be gently smoothed out with your Silicone Rubber Roller & Penny Roller. Start from the centre, and work towards the edges. Never start at the edge and work in - as this will trap the pocket. It you have air pockets sufficient to affect the seal - you may need to pierce/cut this & place a new patch over the top.
  • Can Elevate Cover or flashing Tape stretch and mould?
No, the 6'' cover tape & 5'' flashing tape is for 2D application only, & being semi-cured, is not designed to mould around corners or stetch and allow 3D application. 9 inch Form Flash or 18 inch Quickseam Flashing is used for 3D detailing.
  • Will Elevate Cover or Flashing Tape seal my rubber to another roof?
Yes, the Elevate 6'' Cover Tape & 5'' Flashing Tape is semi-cured & specifically designed to seal over metal edge trims, lead flashing's, tiles, other roof surfaces, or to seal two abutting pieces of EPDM. You may need to use a Batten Bar to anchor the EPDM first before applying the cover tape. Consult the installation guides as required. Do note that the tape is rigid and not designed for stretching or moulding. 9 inch Form Flash or 18 Inch Quickseam Flashing must be used for this.

To summarise, see below:

Order Processing:

Orders for Flat Roofing Items placed before 12pm midday, are generally processed for dispatch the same day. Orders placed after midday will be processed next day. Orders placed on bank holidays or weekends will be processed the next working day. A member of our team will update you via the contact information provided.

Delivery:

After dispatch, your order will generally be delivered the next working day. Do note, if you order other roofing trims with your items, these may be delivered separately due to the length of the trims & courier service guidelines.

The delivery of your items will be carefully packaged, signed off, & will be delivered via a courtier network. We strongly advise being present for delivery to inspect your products & sign delivery notes. Additionally, not all courier service trucks have tail lifts, or pallet trolleys. Please be prepared with the necessary person(s) to take delivery of your items, necessary for the size of the order. Depending on the size of items ordered, they may be heavy - use proper lifting technique, we cannot be held liable for any personal injury resulting from the delivery or use of the ordered items.

Notes on the delivery of Elevate EPDM:

If you order EPDM with your items, the rubber will be delivered rolled up for ease of transport. As a result there may be some fold creases and wrinkles - this is normal. To remedy this, the EPDM should be laid to rest, or settle, for a minimum of 1 hour. In colder temperatures, the light use of a heat gun (not a naked flame) can be used to settle the rubber. Don't overheat or touch directly.

Starting your project:

We advise not booking in or arranging an installation team to begin works before the goods have been delivered & inspected. Delays or order mistakes are rare, but can happen. We can't be liable for any costs as a result from delayed or incorrect delivery or items.
