The lightweight make-up makes the roof suitable for almost all conservatory sizes and styles, as well as being building control compliant
Is your conservatory too cold in winter and too hot in summer?
Guardian Warm Roofs have been developed to solve this exact problem. With a replacement solid roof from Guardian your conservatory will become energy efficient allowing you to use it year round.
Achieving a maximum U-value of 0.15 W/m2K the Guardian β’ roof is also fully approved by the LABC Local Authority Building Control and is fully Guaranteed.
The efficiency requirements changed as of 15th June 2022, making the Guardian Warm Roofs one of the only up-to-date systems to fully comply to building regulations.
Fully tested and approved to all thermal and structural standards, the Guardianβ’ roof is a high performance insulated roof system comprising of a pre-engineered lightweight frame, two layers of rigid insulation board, internal insulated plasterboard, exterior grade plywood and a vapour membrane.
All together this creates a thermally efficient living space; keeping the warm air out in the summer and preventing the heat from escaping in the winter thus saving the amount of heat energy required to keep the room at an ambient temperature.
The Guardian Warm Roof is completely compliant with current thermal regulations.
Part L of building regulations June 2022 stipulates all roofs to rooms (except those in unheated buildings) should be thermally insulated to a maximum U-value of 0.15 W/mΒ²K.
For the conservatory roofs (flat roofs also), this requires a total of 150mm of rigid insulation. Guardian have partnered with the leading premium insulation manufacturer Kingspan to provide the homeowner with maximum quality & thermal efficiency.
The Guardian Warm Roof also has a patented frame structure to allow the necessary ventilation through the roof to stop condensation build up. This is often a failure of many new conservatory roofs. particularly those which use a 'wrap-over' or 'wrap-under'. Beware of these systems which just build over the existing system!
The Guardianβ’ solid roof is a strong, lightweight tiled roof and is fully approved by the Local Authority Building Control.
It complies with the 2013 the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) basic guideline circular for building regs legislation. This applies to the replacement of a translucent roof (glass or polycarbonate) onto a conservatory or porch with a solid roof.
Structural Regulations:
The building as a whole must be structurally sound. Any alterations that affect the original structure must be carefully considered, the foundations may be checked for loading and the conservatory window framework may also be assessed. The new chosen roof structure must be proven to be structurally sound.
We assess the condition of your conservatory before any works begin to ensure the existing structure is suitable to receive a new LABC approved Guardian Warm Roof.
